It's pretty straightforward. The only problem I had was getting enough slack in the wiring harness under the fender to make the connections. You have to cut a tie wrap under there and I just couldn't get to it without taking my fender loose. Would have been fine except I scratched the fender slightly putting it back in. If I'd have put the bike on a jack for more clearance or had an extra pair of hands helping me I wouldn't have had any problems. Still all in all, nothing to complain about. Just get something comfortable to sit/ lay on and have good lighting (I didn't) and you'll do fine.

+1 on taking the fender off. Do that at the start because you will need to clip the wire ties on the harnes under the fender in order to pull it towards the rear to get some slack. Seems like they flipped the mounting of the connection block so you need a good two inches more towards the rear. (at least on my bike). Other than that, it's really straight forward.

If you jack the bike up I believe you'll get a little more clearance between the tire and fender to get to the tie wrap. I didn't have a jack so I'm just guessing here. I think some specialty pliers like hobbyist pliers would have an easier time cutting the tie wrap than just regular mechanics type. After I finished the job, I even thought that toenail clippers might have cut the tie wrap without my having to remove the fender. That's all the good stuff you think to do AFTER you've done it the hard way! LOL!

I did mine and used a lift (jack) it just gave me way more room under the fender to get my mitts in there.
I did not remove the fender and did the entire thing in about 45 mins, clipping the wire tie was the hardest thing to do

+1 on clipping the wire tie. And absolutely no need for a jack.
