Sadly I don't have any pictures of my first bike.........it was an 82 Ymaha RD350 I bought brand new for $2300!!!! Man that thing was quick - prolly too much bike for a first ride but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat....I miss that bike
The year was 1975.I was 15. It's a honda XL125,think my parents paid $750 for her. I had the MODDING thing from the start. It did have a red tank and I took her to the local body shop and had it painted. Notice the cam and pipe also. I was able to rebuild the engine without nothing but a parts diagram that I got loaned to me from the parts guy.
Then my older brother decide he want to see how fast it would go and blew her up and just left her along a county road for me to come get. He said it was my fault cause if I did it right it would not have blown. I said just how fast were you going? Dont remember, but the tac show 13,000 rpm before she went. My fault??
My old rides! First one a Piaggio Vespa 200 and my Mom was happy. But not for long

Ok, my first bike was a 74 honda cb550f. I don't have any pics of the actual bike but it had been sitting in the back a garage for more then 10 yrs and I paid $100 in 1991. Here is a stock photo I found online.
I never actually had it on the road.
What I took my roadtest on was a 1973 yamaha tx500.
That bike lasted for about one riding season. Then after I blew it up literally, I bought a 1978 yamaha xs1100. That bike rocked. quick as heck and I did many long (400+ mile) trips on it. I'd hop on and head to baltimore (fells point) in a heartbeat on it.
Actual bike I owned:

I'm resurrecting this thread because I love to bring back the memories. My first bike was a 1985 Honda Rebel 250. When I was 16 I decided that I had to have a motorcycle (something to do with the poster of the 1989 Softail on my buddy's wall, I think). So, I got a job and started saving up. Every week I would cash my paycheck and put the money in an envelope. When I finally had enough I went to the dealership and bought this used Rebel for $850. I rode it home in February in Kansas with no gloves and no helmet! That was the first time I had ever ridden a motorcycle. Oh, to be young and dumb again! But, that was all I needed to figure out that I would be on two wheels for the rest of my life. This is me in 1991.
