Mini apes seem to be about the most comfortable position I've found on a bike after comparing a few buddies rides with my own. I'm 6' tall and they're straight out in front of me where I don't have to stretch or bend in a weird way to sit comfortably with my hands in position. I think handlebar comfort is about as personal a decision as it gets for a bike. You really just have to try them out to know for sure.
i got 18's on my sporty and i love them. also, i would be lying to you if i said my arms didn't go numb after a couple a hours on them. that being said i really think they are much more comfortable than dragg bars personaly, i'm to tall to be slouching over. apes like mine are a bit extreme, apes like the stockers on a dyna or heritage that are lower i think are the most perfect for function. when i can't role with the big ones anymore i will suring turn a geezer glide into something with mini apes
I run 17" apes and love 'em! I've ridden long trips, short runs and everything in between. Back feels fine and no real numbness. (My right thumb got numb on long rides with the stockers and it's no worse with the 17's. Old shoulder injury...)
They look great, and to me they are more comfortable.
I have the stock mini apes on my 07 SB...very comfortable...with the SDer seat my hands are slightly below shoulder height....can I install 2" risers with stock wiring/cabeling without trouble?...:>)
18 inchers on my softail. I'm 6'3" and have never had numb arms or fingers.
The only problem is speed, the faster you go the harder it is to hang on!!!!
You were absolutly right, what a great product. Cant wait until the snow melts!

Hickey, as I mentioned in PM, you'll love 'em like that when you get out on the road.
