fi is better in lots of ways ,but I can buy a new mukuni for what it cost to for stealership to down load new map when you chagle pipes
its most definitely a better system.. fuel management, constant power throughout the throttle curve.. if you got the money to buy all the extra crap !
im keepin it simple.. i found an s&s super g w/ manifold for 150$ on ebay.. try getting a "fuel pak" for that.. that actually works..
With the mods on my '00 FXDL I switched from the stock carb to the S&S G. Very little warm up time. A few seconds in the warm and hot weather and maybe a minute when it gets cold (30-45 degrees) out. It is reliable and holds adjustments perfectly. For this bike it's the way to go.
Now when I ride out on the west coast, all the HD's I rent have FI. Its been great at handling big swings in elevation. Also proven very reliable for starting the bike in all kinds of temperature conditions (both air as well as engine).
Bottom line is I'm glad the bike I own has a carb and happy the bikes I rent are fuelies.

I agree man.. if somebody else had to do all the maintenance and maintain the efi.. im all for takin a stroll on it.. but we all know that when we rent things.. we ride them like we stole them!! lol.. i see very good points about both and that's where i think ppl are misunderstanding me on this site.. im just saying.. that the simpler things are.. the less problems occur.. at least that my opinion..
