Sure I could buy a tuner that cost a little less. Then I could spend another $300 on getting it dyno tuned, every time I choose to make another modification to the motor. At least this way when its all said and done I'll still have the laptop. Last time I checked, that $300 for dyno time didn't include taking it home and using it forever.

Who's the dummy now?

I don't need to pay someone to tune mine every time. I just said it was your choice to buy that particular tuner.

I just said it was dumb to complain about something you bought when you had a choice of something that could do the same job for less $$. I never said it isn't a good tuner, it makes it a lot easier to tune the bike, but there are other ways to do it without the TTS and a laptop or a dyno.

I don't feel that any of the other tuners currently available will me give the range of tuneability that the TTS can provide on a do it yourself basis. I don't like buying stuff twice as I've made that mistake on other projects through the years. May as well get the best equipment that is available or it will turn to regret and even more expense later.

And that's fine, I see nothing wrong with buying the tool that will help you best. I'm just saying, when you buy the best, don't bitch about the price. I know the TTS is a great tuner and does a hell of a job.

My last bike (granted) wasnt a harley but it had 4 carbs. I dont miss them at all. A pain to sinc and jetting 4 carbs sucks. 1 carb I might have been able to deal with but 4 got to be a real pain. I love feul injection because I hook it to my computer and I can make it work with just about anything now. Takes about 15 minutes...carbs took about 2 hours+...

Yeah i was thinking the same thing when folks where adding the cost of a laptop to the cost of tuning.

If you are commenting on an Internet Forum you already have a computer (though I imagine moving a desktop to the garage would suck).

Here is my take; I work in IT i deal with computers all day. I know computers inside and out, but i really don't want extra stuff on my bike and want to keep computers and my bike separate. I would prefer having a carbed bike because it is simpler and more "bare bones" like the rest of motorcycling. EFI just seems like a lot of extra stuff for smaller gains.

I have an EFI bike but every time I have to play with my tuning I remember the old axiom,"keep it simple stupid"

Oh and that sound, oh boy that sound.... potato potato potato
