Good point!

Carbs were yesterday, FI is today. No more choke, no more stalling when cold, FI is the way to go. I understand people who work on their own bikes and KNOW carbs wanting to stick with them but the fact is sooner or later the way things are going you will find it hard to find any new motorcycles or cars with carbs. There's a reason for that and it isn't just manufacturer's greed. They simply work better for the rider.

Everyone that I rire with has FI except me. They all love to hear my bike idle. They also all have Road Kings or Street Glides etc. They tell me how great their FI is and their cd player stereo and tour packs and saddle bags are. Screw all that crap I guess I'm just different.

Im old school so I am more familiar with carbs and for the first few months was almost ready to rip off the fi but with some map changes and a computer in the shop Ive come to terms with it for now. As far as idle speed goes while installing the new heavy breather I noticed what appears to be an idle adjustment, someone can correct me if Im wrong but it is on the airbox mounting plate but harley or gm should I say are serious about you not adjusting it, special tool # god knows what thought about makin one and playing with it but was in to big a hury to get new shiny parts on.

42mm carb; standard finish $350 you can get a brand new carb for less than you can get tinker of some just from mmi grad and stealer ship. You can limp home on a carb or fix on side of road.
fi better when it is right ,but expensive nightmare if you have trouble.
Plus a lot of these fi riders whould not pass the old test if you can't start in you can't ride before the electric leg.

rather enjoy the carb. makes it so easy to tune when i do mods. plus, i really enjoy fine tuning it.

maybe it's just me, but i think the carbed bikes sound a little better too. (could just be in my head)

if I bought a new bike tomorrow though, I wouldn't mind that it was EFI. It definately has its benefits.

Might be nice to start 'n go with the EFI instead of waiting 2-3 minutes for mine to warm up. that seems like an eternity when you're ready to get going.

That's your choice to buy the TTS, there are a lot of other tuners out there. To complain about the cost of something that you choose to buy when there are other options that will do the same job is kind of dumb. That's something like buying an Escalade to haul your kids around then complaining about how much the thing cost you when you could have bought a 96 Windstar to do the same damn thing.

I agree. All those guys that talk tough about how they are old school because they used to kick bikes and the guys that say they wish they had a kicker on their new HD because they are cool are nuckin' futs. Kicking a 1000cc bike is not much fun, imagine 1500. That sucker would kick back and snap your fricken leg like a twig. Especially with some of the compression in the souped up motors.
