Carb or injection ?
Last bike I jetted gained a whopping 3hp on the dyno after making 4 extra runs and jetting richer between runs. Alas, it was all for naught as the bike was too rich and unrideable on the street so it was switched back to my settings and lived happily ever after. If I can find the dyno sheets I'll post them up as they show AFR's being damn near perfect throughout the entire range.
You obviously have a home computer, you don't need a lap top so, I spent $200 on my PCIII and tuned it once.
Its just frustrating that what should be a $400 cam swap, has now, due to sophistication and technology, turned into a $1500 ordeal. I just hope that it turns out the way I want it when I'm done.

I already have all the other tools (wrenches, torque bar...etc...etc) as do most who are doing their own stuff, or they are thinking about getting it.
To me the tuner is another tool in my box, to help me get the bike running right, but it's a pretty damn versatile tool! One time buy, and I can tune my bike no matter what I might do to the engine..... and there is the second benefit... "I" can tune my bike... and in a matter of minutes.
Yeah, I remember the 'several' years that I just stood back and feared the ECM.... I did. But this backyard/garage mechanic educated himself on fuel injection systems.
I have nothing against carb'd bikes... like I said, this is my first FI bike since I started riding at 10yrs old.
