Default PCIII placement

I just finished my install yesterday. Was wondering if anyone wandered from the directions. I mounted it under the ecm with velco as stated. Was wondering if anyone has just mount it under the seat so that it just sitting on top of all the wires and stuff so you have easier access. Seem to me even though I mounted like instruction said it would still be kinda a pain to hook laptop of a change maps. Does anyone have a pic of it in other locations

I did the same as you and have the same concerns. Kind of makes you not want to do any mods so you don't have to fool with it. I know, I'm lazy.

Under the seat for mine. Left the USB cable on it and sealed it up w/ silicone. Been like that for 4 years w/ no problems at all. Want to tune, pull off electrical box cover and cable is rolled up inside open cavity above alarm module. Real simple....

My PCIII is mounted under my seat. I also left the usb cable connected to it. I fold the cable up and have it in a ziplock baggie to protect it from rain and direct moisture.

That's a good idea to leave the cable connected. Only problem for me is no laptop. I have a desktop in my shop I can use to change maps but I would need a really long cable.

Well, you can actually buy usb cable extenders so you could leave the one that was supplied with the pcIII connected.
