Just bought some drag bars with the holes to run the wiring inside of them, anyone wanna give me a HOW TO? Do they unplug somewhere in the front of the bike or do they run all the way to the rear. THis is on a 01 Wide glide.
sorry friend, you gotta cut them . But don't remove any in case you want taller bars in the future!
Do a good job rewiring (solder and heat shrink) or you may run into problems down the road. Also beware of "burrs" inside the predrilled holes that can (unknowingly) chew through the rubber shielding of your wires and cause a short.

Keith,
There's a couple of ways to do this. You can unplug the wiring and remove the wiring from the connector by releasing the pins....if your wiring is long enough. Or you can cut them and add length by splicing (solder, don't twist and tape or use splice connectors.)
To pull the wiring through, use heavy wax string. Put a small weight on the end of the string, tape up all of the holes and bar ends except for the ones you're pulling through at the time....use a shop vac to suck the string to the other hole. Connect the string to the wires, lube the wires with electrical grade grease or use dishwashing liquid and carefully pull them through so as not to knick any wires. It's fairily simple, just time consuming to do it right.
I believe the 01' models use duetch connectors, but you may want find out for sure if you plan on de-pinning in lieu of the cut/splice method. In 2007, Harley went to molex connectors, FYI.
If its anything like my 03, I had to pull the harness up through the backbone till I got to the plug. Then I had to release the connectors and like mentioned above, just pull the wires through and reconnect. To pull the harness out, I had to undo the "service" loop in order to get it to pull up.
Don't get in a hurry pulling the wires thru . If you have the loom around the wires pull about an inch over the ends . it will help the wire tips make 90degree turns easier check out the dyna section How to on connectors Mudd has a how to on the connectors if your not sure how they come apart
