Default Which tires for the twisties?

I just finished the suspension on my 07 FXD. Works triple rate springs in front, True Track, Superbrace, and the Ohlins HD215 shocks (13.2"). The handling is so improved it is like a different bike (mostly due to the increased ride height I think?). This raises another issue.

There have been a number of recent threads re: Dyna suspension and handling tips. My question is "What tires do you guys use?" Although high mileage, rain performance, etc, are nice, which tires perform best in the turns? I currently have ME880s.

thx

greg

I'm on my second front and third rear; Bridgestone Battlax BT020 radials...110/80ZR19 on front and a 160/60ZR18 on back...I like 'em

Anything sticky. Metzler or Avon. Tires that are good in the twisties rarely get high mileage. Anything but stock Dunlops.

You don't like the ME880s? I've gone the same way with my bike that you have with yours and I planned on installing those tires soon.

Actually I do like the ME880s, its just that I have nothing to really compare to. If there was a consensus that something was clearly better, I'd sure want to know. ALthough there are lots of "tire threads" on th Harley forums, they usually are focused on mileage, comfort, or overall ability.

I have used the Pilot's on my Beemer, and they were pretty good. Hopefully we will get some more imput.

Take a look at Dunlop Qualifiers. Theyre a lower profile than stock, and stick like glue.

I'm about due for new rubber too, what about Continentals, don't here much about them. Used to run them on a kawie and thought they were a good tire.

My previous rear tire was a Venom. Seemed to handle well and looked nice but wore fast, and with only a couple burnouts. My cuurent rear tire is a Dunlop Elite3 which seems to handle as well, looks fine, and has lasted considerably longer, even with a dozen plus burnouts. It must be a harder tire but I can't tell. I'll probably try something else next.
