Does anyone have the part number for the fork lock on the 07 FXDWG or FXDC? I have a 07 Streetbob and i'm moving the ignition switch to the dash. Ii figured i'd see about changing the switch on the frame to just a fork lock if the cost wasn't too much and i could get it key'ed to match.
I'm doing the same mod, my plan was to leave the stock switch in place. It will basically be just a lock and the electrical will be hooked to the dash switch. I have a new switch and I was going to take it in and see if they can re-key it to match my original key.
I think the cheapest way is to order a new switch from Harley and have it keyed to match your original ignition switch. Just leave the original switch in the neck as a fork lock and install the new switch in the dash. You can pull off the old ignition switch collar and order a new one that is just for the fork lock. A Harley keyed lock will cost about $67.00 from Zanotti Motor.
I got my ign switch from Eastern Performance for around 23 bucks. Uses same barrel key, but unless youre an experienced locksmith, youll have to send it out for re-keying. Honestly, you can live with 2 keys on your keyring.

I called a few locksmiths and few are equipped to re-key FORT/Chicago Ace barrel locks. The one I found estimated $25-30 to do it. So, I googled FORT locks and found a lockpicking forum. Did some searching and came up with enough info to tackle the job myself. I'm a hack non-locksmith, but with a drill, vernier caliper, some .078" music wire and .093" brass wire, I re-keyed my switch from DK.

Actually, I hate having more keys than absolutely necessary. I've re-keyed a few things around the house and garage, just to eliminate extra keys.
kk, yeah, I was a bit nervous about breaking into a barrel lock. But once I had it apart, it was pretty simple. Teh interwebs has made me braver, to attempt things like this.
