I have a 2009 Street Bob--all stock except V&H pipes and SE Heavy Breather A/C. I really like what the MoCo did with the rear fender and taillight, but the fender-mount license plate detracts from the custom cruiser look. When the stock rear tire wears out, I'll replace it with the 180-wide kit. Then the bike will cry out for me to move the license plate. Has anyone tried to replace the fender-mount license plate with a side-mount job? Last year's Drag Specialties catalog has one on pg. 1002 (In Close License Plate Holder) that is supposed to fit '06 - '08 FXD with 3/4" axle. The kit does not include a tag light, though (it says "custom lighting is required for illumination").
got the 180 and moved the plate. It is just an ebay bracket but it is good quality and I like the spider web design. I mounted it to the belt guard bolt above the rear axle. It isnt illuminated yet but I will pick up that little led strip that lumens makes if I ever get pulled over for it.

Reason: wasn't done
I had a friend make one for me.
Haven't had an issue yet over the illumination part.
You can see it during the day and if the po-po is behind you, his headlights do all the illuminating for you.
I don't have any pics of the Road 6 one. I bought it from them off ebay then I made my own so I never even mounted it. It's the one with the holes not the flames or spider webs. I've also got another one that I welded out of 3/16 steel if you're looking for something even beefier. Similar to the pics below but hasn't been powdercoated yet.
Since the plate will be sitting under the left turn signal, I plan on using it for the light. I'm gonna wire up the signals to be constantly on as running lights, and I'm gonna drill/file a small hole into the bottom of the left lens cap. It should hopefully provide enough light to keep everything legal.
got mine through them and was very impressed with the quality. it was made by fabkevin. make sure you get the correct axle size hole. buddy just paid $115 for one and it's got the wrong size hole. woops.
