Default Front end goes clunk?

I've put about a 1000 miles on my 07 Dyna SG since i bought a month ago(1200 mile on the bike) and I've noticed that the front end makes a "clunk" sound when i hit small bumps in the road at slow speeds (less than 40mph) is this common? or should i have it checked out?

Thanx
-Asa

Either the steering head is loose or the tank is loose, or both. I remember someone having the steering head tightened and it still did it. Took them a while to check the tank mounting bolts.

HD knows about this problem and covers it under warranty,it's just a new washer on the steering head along with a re-torque,you can do it yourself easily.

Most likely is the steering head but check the tank bolts before taking it in. I did some work on mine once and was making the same sound and ended up being the front tank bolt wasnt completely tight.

+1 on the tank bolts and the steering head bolt. Before retightening the steering head bolt, loosen the pinch screws on the lower tree, thump the lower tree with a rubber mallet to free the tubes. After retightening the screw, tighten the lower pinch screws.
