Default Need an engine guard for '05 FXD

I've looked and ordered and can't find an engine guard for a 2005 FXD with forward controls.

Thanks

I have the same problem and would sure welcome some advice. I have an 05' FXDL and the installation of an engine guard would cause me to lose my forward highway pegs. I have the HD adjustable set (I'm inseam challenged) and would hate to give them up and mount forward footrests on the bars. Harley has a guard that fits on the 06' and up that uses a U-bolt to attach the bar to the lower part of the frame, thus not affecting the mount for forwards or pegs. I don't understand why they won't offer a similar set for the 05's and older. Maybe I have overlooked something and would certainly welcome any advice from forum members.

I ordered one a few months ago that fastened to the frame via a U bolt and it looked like ****. I didn't want something that cheesy looking bolted to my bike.

I wonder what they used on the Deffenders with floor boards. Maybe one of those would work with forwards.
