What about illumination of the plate? In most states, cops'll write you a ticket in a flash for an unilluminated plate.

What's wrong with mounting it to the belt guard??

They have led tag bolts or LED light bars you can attach to the plate. Once I get hassled I'm going to do what JRKs idea was in another thread, which was to drill a hole on the under side of the turn sig and insert a single LED and into it and wire it to the run circuit. Right now if I ride at night I just clip on a LED book light and works great. I keep it in my tool pouch so it's with me. I know ghetto, but I don't feel like running wires just yet and I don't plan on riding very much at night anyways. I also wanted to make sure the side mount was what I wanted before I hassle with the wires.

Here's what I did because I hate those big bulky covers. This was a lot cheaper too. They are fat spike license plate bolts off of ebay. $15 shipped. The bar & shield one the parts guy hooked me up with.

That looks sick! I might have to do that. Otherwise, I was just going to get some plastic plugs from the dealer or simple christmas tree plugs from Autozone. At least until next winter when I weld the holes closed. I think I might remove the tailight also and fill it.

I'll ride until I get caught. Then I'll ride until I get caught (depending on if I get ticketed on the first one). Then I will probably get some LED bolts.
