Well I am in the market for a touring bag for my 07 LR. I am torn between the T-Bags Stowaway, Lonestar and the HD Multi-Fit Luggage System. I am planning a trip for this summer probably around 2 weeks long and need to make sure I have everything I need. The T-Bags Stowaway bag is the smallest of the bags listed and of course the cheapest but I am not sure it is big enough at 1.35 cu. ft. Then is the Lonestar which is the highest priced and second in size, I really like the bag but dont like the price tag that it carries. Lastly the HD Multi-Fit Luggage System is the largest and only 10 bucks cheaper then the Lonestar. Do you guys have any input on any of these bags, what you like about them and what you dont like. Looks wise I really like the Lonestar bag and my second choice would be the stowaway but not sure if it is big ebough. Give me your thoughts and reviews on the bags so I can make a decent decision. Thanks in advance.
Call me a fool but I am really trying to avoid saddlebags, I just dont like the looks of them. I have thought of the gran tour bag but wasnt sure if it was going to be big enough. Will the gran tour bag hold a week or two worth of supplies and what not?
Get some of these ... I've got some, but don't have them installed yet.
P/N 49-2521 from www.discountcycleparts.com for $499.87 plus shipping ... then about $10 for some 1 - 1/4" by 1/8" steel bar to make a couple of adapter plates to mount to your struts.
I'm almost done mounting mine and should have photos within another week or two ...
You can purchase Tourmaster slant through-overs for about $150. They look great. All you need are some support brackets which I bought off Ebay for $20
i built my own saddle bags out of aluminum simply cuz i love the look of things that are home made however if i have to worry bout if they can carry everything i need then i might consider takin 4 wheels to carry it all. i am goin on a trip 1 april from morgan city la to lubbock tx 800 miles one way 2 days to get there 2 days there and 2 days home. i will carry just what i cant do without. i went across country back on 98 for a yr. you be suprised what you can do with and without when u need to. remeber the old sayin pack light
I have a Tourmaster t-bag, and Kuryakyn Gran throw-overs.
On the Tourmaster bag, I can't tell from the pics, but do you have a luggage rack that it sits on? Or is it just attached to the backrest?
I had a rack that was attached to the license plate bracket. I thought it was ugly and replaced it with a laydown plate. The wife wants to do a trip and I need more baggage space.
Thanks
