I just got a Super Glide today, but really like the mini apes the Street Bob comes with. If I want to put those on my bike, what would I need? I assume I would need some way to extend the cables.
Also, how are mini apes? Do your arms get tired? How easy is it to steer?

Any other suggestions?
The first 5000 miles on my FXDI with the OEM buckhorns were extremely uncomfortable. I was experiencing pain in my shoulders and in my back between the shoulder blades.
I found a set of take-off Bob mini-apes and cables and did a bar/cable swap. Not knowing what I was doing, it took me several hours. I learned a lot doing it myself.
The mini-apes are a huge improvement. I like the look, but the biggest gain is comfort. The pain I was experiencing is gone.
There are several guys who have done this swap and used the original FXD cables. They did some bending on the brakeline and some rerouting of the other cables. Many who have done this shared comments that the FXD cables were a stretch, but would work.
My opinion, for what its worth, get a set of take-off cables and swap them with the bars. Don't take a chance of binding or stressing these critical control lines and cables.
There is enough slack in the stock wiring to work with the mini-apes.

I swapped out my stock buckhorns for the mini apes. I can tell you that in my opinion the mini apes are much more comfortable than the stock bars for me. I agree with jmpancoast on getting new cables. You dont have to spend a fortune for new cables either, unless you want to go the diamond back or other high end cables. A set of take offs on ebay should be dirt cheap. I absolutely love the comfort of the mine apes as compared to the bucks. However your comfort depends on your body size etc...
I put mini-apes on mine, and I love them. I wish I would have done it sooner. It is much more comfortable and it feels like a different bike. I did replace the throttle cables and the brake line. I had plenty of extra wire tucked in the frame, so I didn't need extensions. While I was at it, I relocated my signals to the trees. I like the look much better.
