I have a 2008 fatbob with 1.75 Rush slip-ons and xieds. I am thinking of going witn the heavy breather. Don't have any other motor mods in mind. ? is the pc download the most economical way to go for now and does this eliminate the need for the xieds? And if you have a heavy breather on the shelf let me know. Ride safe Mike.
Sorry. My question is should I have my dealer do the download for $150.00 if I don't plan on any other mods. Just slip-ons and heavy breather. And will this eliminate the need for xieds. Thanks Mike.
Mike don't spend the money for the dealer download. Spend the extra and get the PC V. I was thinking the same thing when doing my mods and I just broke down and called Jamie and Keith at Fuel Moto. I don't play on doing any motor mods (Yet).
Yeah...sure...my famous last words....get the tuner vs the download unless you are strapped for $$. I'm so glad I got a sert because I have changed the map at least 10 times.

LOL that's why I said YET. It's addictive as hell. I gave up drag racing thinking I would save money HAHAHAHAHA yea right.
Within the last month I put a ness big sucker on my '08 fatbob and had the dealer download the remap. I put 2 inch rush slipons about 5k miles ago. I'm real happy with the way the bike is running now but still not happy that I had to pay $150 for a download. I know eventually I'm going to get an EFI system but if your going to do that might as well get a cam then might as well go to 103 then port & polish. etc.etc,
I have over 10K now in just under a year and know I'm going to do all the above in time but IMO the download, slipons and big sucker are good enough for now. Too new & too expensive to throw to much beer money into it. (either that or my 22 years of marriage have gotten to me)

Is there a place online where you can get the downloads for the sert?
Or do you just goto the dealer everytime?
Can you get the cables for the tuner?
I hate the thought of spending anther 150 just because i put pipes on...
That's what I did. Just went with the stage 1 download. I agree it is a rip off, but what can you do. The way I am, if i would have got the PCV, i would have thought i need the autotune. It never ends. From what i've gathered (which others can correct me if i'm wrong) I guess one of the risks of getting the stage 1 download is that it is a fairly standard thing, not customizable like a tuner, and for some pipe/ac combos it doesn't quite work like it should. At which point you may get into something else.
I have no complaints about how my bike is running after the stage 1 download, so i guess i'm lucky. I was like you, the pipes/ac is most likely the end of performance related mods (for the foreseeable future).
I talked to Keith at Fuelmoto and I will probably go with a PC-V, the price of two downloads at dealer and a lot more user friendly "IF" I ever change from slipons to pipes. Would like to find a heavy breather that sombody has taken off, may have to be patient, after all I waited till I was 56 to get my first HD. Ride safe Mike.
