Slip-on options.
It is not really that difficult to fiddle with the baffles and dics, it does allow you to taylor the sound which is a plus. I have not heard a V/H, cycleshack, rhinehardt or python that was not significantly louder than stock. However, as it has been posted many times, sound is subjective. It is tough to pick a muffler without hearing them and expensive to experiment.

Yep - I have 5k miles on them and the chrome looks brand new. No problems at all. Fit/finish is perfect. I paid just under $200 for them and they look/sound much better than my buddy's rhinehardts with the faded black tips. Lower tone than Rhine/Cobra (that is what my buddies have on their bikes) On the sound meter they are probably one of the quieter mufflers on the market.

Are you running these? How is the quality and fit?
