Are there any slip-ons that produce power without being significantly louder then stock? Thanks to responses about the V and H straight shot slip-ons I know that they will be to loud for my use. We ride our bikes in places that I don't like to make to much noise, like National Parks etc. Would like to find a set of slip ons that make more power then stock but aren't so loud that they would be annoying to other people in the parks. Unfortunately, the new H-D SE slip-ons aren't any better then stock at making power, according to H-D's own dyno chart, and I'm to cheap to buy a complete system. Thanks.
Thanks for the info esp. the video. Even with the quiet baffles they will be to loud. Been there, done that.

I posted this in your v&h thread and trust me they are barely louder then stock. but they are. My wife followed me in her car and couldn't hear my bike once i was at cruising speed. For your purpose these will do great... for sound anyways. You can always swap the baffles with BCTs but it will get louder.
I got some SE slip ons with only 1700 miles on them I'll sell you for $200 Shipped! They are already in the box and ready to go. They are only 6 months old and since I live where I can't ride they were only used when I bought my bike in AUG till the end of SEP. Then I bought the V&H. These are to quiet for me and meet the federal epa decibel ratings and all that stuff. They have a good tone when you get on it, but you can barely hear the bike at cruising unless you have a windshield. They are the slash downs and are $374 brand new.
Could be a problem with size limitations but you actually can have high flow mufflers that are not loud under most conditions. I have Corsa Indys on my Corvette. These mufflers have almost no restriction but are only slightly louder then standard until you get on it, then they become LOAD!! Had another set of low restriction mufflers that were so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. Corsa uses a tech. called sound cancellation. Might not be possible to make mufflers like these for motorcycles that also look good but I wish someone would. Buy them in a heartbeat.
As mentioned, it might not be possible to buy anything for a MC, slip-ons or complete systems, that make power without being loud. May have to be satisfied with the SE A/C and reprogram. The FXDC is not a sportsbike anyway.
I just today took the SE 16ga pipes off of my 2004 stage one lowrider, those long pipes just rattled my head. I got a nice set of stock header pipes from my brother and had found a set of SE tapered slipons (old stock PT#80061-00). They are louder than stock but sound great and have great midrange torque. I like the look of the staggered duals better to.

You could try and find some 09 street bob mufflers and do the Jekyll & Hyde mod. Look it up. You could put those baffles in and then use a little more wrap to tone it down some. I think with something like that you could "customize" the volume to your liking. I'm not sure how it would be performance wise but it should be about the same as SE mufflers. Just a thought.
Oh one question - are you planning on doing a stage 1 or just slip-on's to increase performance. If it's the ladder it might be a lost cause.
