Interesting....
I don't have an issue with my stock front brake... however the rear brake sucks. I have been thinking about replacing the rear caliper and going Zs front and back then.
We have 2 Dyna's an 06 and 07 and I think there is something inherintly (sic) WRONG with the rear brakes my bike came with forwards and the rear brake worked a lot better than the mid controls, removed the forwards and the brakes became crap, I think the design of the brake lever and the fulcrum? is incorrect, it appears there is not enough of an angle(leverage) to fully engage the rear brakes, IMO if the brake lever could be angled up more it could apply more force thru the system to the pads.
I am SERIOUSLY looking to change the complete rear brake set up --- all in the name of safety---all it takes is one major accident in which poor or no rear brake is the cause and the lawsuits may get HD attention.
The 09 and I guess the 10 have different brackets and I have not seen any complaints from 09 owners----YET>
I have this issue with the front brake. I have smaller hans, and an injured tendon in the right hand, and have a real issue with the Dyna front brake ( I have several other bikes, including Harleys, and none are close to this bad for me). I have looked for adjustable levers (like my BMW has) so I could adjust the lever angle closer to the handlebars, but have been unable to find anything for a Dyna.
However, the local dealer finally located some "Ergo" levers (in black which I wanted) which have a different , reduced angle. I am picking them up today, and will let you know if they help.
As i mentioned previously, I now have a Brembo 4 piston 4 pad set up, which is much better than stock, but the lever is still a bit far, which makes it awkward.
