You and me both, I have the HD adjustable Highway pegs and they are about right... but I still don't like having my heel so close to the shift peg and the brake pedal.

I am Only 5' 7" and I love the forwards had mid mounts on my 06 so I could move my feet around and only used them once. Just did not feel right to me.

Heel rests will allow you to relax your feet when using forward controls.

I have heal rest on my forwards and I like them much better than not having them So I would say yes it helps. Yes you can get mini floorboards but i ride solo all the time now so dont really have the problem and with my thunderheader it is low enough that my girls foot would not get on the pipe it she wanted to ride with me.

I felt the same way with my forwards, I'm 5 ft 6 I got a set of Kuryakyn Switchblades they have a hidden heel rest ya just pull out when ya want. Love them forwards now my feet feel at ease not fighting to keep them on the pegs.

I've never ridden with forwards, but sat on a Fat Bob that had them when I was looking to trade my Sporty. The second I reached for the brake I thought "no way." The dealer searched all over SoCal to get a Fat Bob with mids. I like a more aggressive seating position... little did I know that pressing the brake pedal doesn't really do anything.

With my previous bikes being standards and a sportbike, my forwards are taking some getting used to. Not uncomfortable though...just need to get use to kicking my feet forward when I take off.

If you're used to riding with mids and have only had forwards a very short while, give it some time and I think you'll get used to it. After I went to forwards on my Sporty it took just a week or so before I felt right at home. Got 'em on my FXDC and it feels perfect (5'11").
