Gonna check into different heel rests.... where can i get the mini floorboards from?? HD , kuryakyn??? this is my first bike and ive already put more into wrenching and changing parts than i have riding???? It used to look to be a stock superglide???

I don't care for forward controls. I don't feel like I have enough control when I'm spread out like that. Plus, when the ol' itchy *** flairs up, mids allow me to reposition in the seat better.

I still like to stretch out sometimes, but that's what highway pegs are for.

Just my preferences.

My 07 Sportster was the first bike I ever rode with forwards, and it did take a couple of weeks to get used to. After a couple of 3 hour + rides, I started to really enjoy it. It just feels more relaxed now, instead of being all bunched up with the mids. I'm on a Fat Bob now, and the forwards are even further out. It took a couple of rides to get used to that, but now I feel great again. Even in the twisties, I feel more comfortable.

For the longer rides though, 3 + hours of highway, I would like to have some mid-pegs just to be able to change positions.

This past weekend, I rode a Street Glide with the mid floorboards, and freaked out every time I had to stop. My legs just did not want to work right when I went to stop. A couple of quick stops at changing lights ( I was riding with a group of people that did not like to signal) caused the seat to get sucked up my a$$.

wow lots of opinions but havent heard mine yet so I'll give it to ya... I have forward controls on the 08 fat bob that have the 5" pegs and love them but also have the 3" pegs on my engine guard.... when needed I can rest my heel and toes on both pegs at once and i feels like a floorboard... however if I start to cramp I reach back put down the passenger pegs and I then hook my heel on them and stretch the knees or if I'm screwing around and were on twistys I'll tuck them up on the pass pegs and fold all front ones up so the dont grind... works for me and I'm 6'1" 270 I got what I call the ridin belly...haha

I love the control of my mid pegs. I'm 6'1" and don't feel cramped. May consider getting some highway pegs someday.

Yes it was a little un comfy at the beginning ,but after awhile the only thing is @ 95 mph or more it feels like the wind might push my feet off if I hit a bump. Heel rests may make all the difference. i would put mid mount pegs on for the option, but think they may look out of place-too many pegs there! thats just me!

If you already have mids and can add highway pegs to have to best of both worlds, why would you remove the mids and replace them with forwards? It must be an image thing, which I can understand since I've spent my share on accessories.

It's most definitely not an "image thing" for me (see Sundowner seat). Mids feel cramped; forwards feel great--that's all it is for me, but I think the one thing to take away from this whole thread is "whatever works best for you."

They cramp my 6' 1" frame a bit to, but you don't have any mountains near you and that's when those babies (mids) come in handy. Plus, since I've added the highway pegs, I can cruise the highway all day long in comfort.

You're not alone.

I prefer mids as well.
