Bitter Sweet for me. I love the mids but they were making my hips cramp up. So, I put on fowards and kept the mid pegs. I still don't like the forwards that much but the pain is gone.

I have mids as well. If my legs were and inch longer I would have forwards. Story of my life!

For the time being, I have mids and really don't care for them. They do not provide the comfort that I prefer. Maybe I will get used to them, but so far, they are very uncomfortable.

Go with what works best with your riding style, I personal like mid controls.

It took a couple of rides to get used to that, but now I feel great again. Even in the twisties, I feel more comfortable.

For the longer rides though, 3 + hours of highway, I would like to have some mid-pegs just to be able to change positions.

This past weekend, I rode a Street Glide with the mid floorboards, and freaked out every time I had to stop. My legs just did not want to work right when I went to stop. A couple of quick stops at changing lights ( I was riding with a group of people that did not like to signal) caused the seat to get sucked up my a$$.
I hardly ever rely on my rear (foot) brake to stop me--use my front (hand) brake about 90%+ of time, almost exclusively ... however, I agree that the floorboards on the touring models (Street Glide, for example) and the Softails are not that far forward ....

I have my (Softail) floorboards on +2" extension and they work well for me .....

This thread comes up all the time around here.

I do forwards because I have real long legs. I also have heel rests, they feel just as comfy as floorboards. I also have mid pegs, and my feet are big enough that with the mid pegs down, I can put my heel on the mids, my toe on the forwards and the ***** of my feet on the heel rests. A floating floorboard

I disagree with anyone that says forwards mean you can't ride aggressively. It all depends on how long your legs are. My legs are probably almost right at a 90 degree angle on forwards, and I have perfect control of my bike when cornering.

Don't like fwds. If the weather gets crappy I like to tuck in tight where my center of balance is. I feel safer and more in control. Have hwy pegs for when I need them. Feel the same with the lowrider, although I have floorboards, crash bar and pegs for that. Lots of places to put my feet and stretch the legs, but security when I need it

Never had 'em, don't want 'em. I use hiway pegs and that works for me.
