okay....... to make sure i get this right, i need to get a new primary gasket,new oil, new tower gasket? what the heck is a tower gasket and where is it. i didnt see it in the service manual. in all honesty how much of a pain is this gonna be for one person to do? I have a lift that doesnt work on the dyna but i do have some 2x4's to prop it up

yeah so I was looking at doing the same with my fat bob down the road how hard is it. I am still trying to learn all the in and outs of motorcycle engines and if anyone knows where I can find a good manual out there can you pm me. What I just read sounds like its a big hassel for a new guy.

It's easy and if you have a good torque wrench you'll have the satisfaction of knowing it was done right. When I got my chrome outer cover, I asked them for torque specs/sequence and the service guy said they just go around in a circle.....wtf.
Make sure to give the bolts a sharp tap before loosening them like someone else mentioned.
