I got a qoute from the local independent vtwin experts?? about the price for a power commander installed and dyno tuned with a custom built map done in house while i watched... installed and dyno tuned while i watch if i so choose is $550 out the door... I was shown just a few charts with numbers on it and was slightly impressed... they put the A/F ratio right down the line at 13.8 to1 and they also have the dynojet with the brake to simulate real riding conditions, not just WOT operation.. Seems like a good deal to me?? What do you guys on here think that have experience with aftermarket fuel controllers and dyno time???? thanks....tim
That doesn't sound like a bad deal. I got my PC-V from Fuel Moto and paid 300 for it and installed it myself, a dyno tune around here would cost 200-250, I am sure that if I had mine dyno tuned they could squeeze alittle more out of it, but for now the map from Jamie seems to be right on.
In town that will do it all for that price and they let you watch while they do all the work... Seen a few of their dyno sheets and they seem to be on it... Granted I'm not all about max power but safe operation and flawless performance... Right now my bike has no fuel controller and seems to run fine but its still cool here and I'm sure as the temps climb I may have issues??? But if I'm gonna go for this, is the screamin eagle open air intake kit a good filter option and how much is it?? the one with the cone type K&N filter............................tim
That sounds about right. If you plan on watching them dyno tune the bike, you might be there for a few hours. It should take them about 2-3hrs to do a custom map on the dyno. As for the SE heavy breather it retails for $299, but if you shop around you can find it as low as $225.
That is pretty much what I did, I ran my bike with just pipes for a little while, and read about the PCV and Heavy Breather, so I said you know what? Screw it and bought both of them..I paid 240 for my Heavy Breather and 300 or so for my PCV from Jamie at Fuel Moto..The map Jamie gave me seems to be working really well so far and the bike has really woken up..MAYBE someday curiosity will get the best of me and I might go get it dyno'd but I think Im going to ride it like this for a little bit..."If it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of thing
