I put Stabil in the fuel tank and park it covered on carpet in garage. I never fire it up unless I ride it for at least 15 miles at operating temperature, which I usually try to do at least once a month when possible. Sometimes means riding in 20° weather. Done this for years without any problems.

Whew! Thank God one of the good things about California (and probably the only good thing) is that we pretty much ride all year round here. I would hate to go through that every winter especially with 4 bikes!

In the FALL...change all the fluids, oil in the cylinders, WD in the pipes, pull the battery and put on tender, wax her down, stabil in the tank, put it up on the lift and park in the back of the garage. Oh, mothballs in cheesecloth to keep critters at bay and cover with a breathable cover. So after all that, threw the battery in last Friday and fired her up. Been doing this with bikes for years of winter storage and they fire up first time every Spring. Time spent in the Fall means riding time in the Spring.

All I ever do is Stabil in the tank and the battery on a tender. I don't start the bike at all unless I'm riding it. Never had a problem.

So Stabil even if it will only sit for 2 weeks while on vacation?

I wouldn't. Just the battery on a tender, ride more, worry less!
