Guard Dawg installed
I read a thread there about a keyless ignition system called a Guard Dawg. I read as much as could about it, bought it and spent most of Friday figuring out how to get it to work. I'm not much a wrench and the install wasn't going well; I called a friend who is a retired engineering professor; the guy is like the absent minded professor, guffy but smart as hell. After reading the instructions for about 5 minutes he looked at the wiring on my bike, looked at the guard dawg, drank a beer and just sat there thinking. He started to work and in less than 10 minutes had it done.
Its a great product and I like the fact that I don't need to insert the key to turn on the bike; it works just like the keyless ignition on my RG. Get within 10 ft of the bike with the fob in your pocket, hit the run switch and fire it up. It's a great addition to a sweet little bike.
As much as I like the SERG I'd keep my Dyna if I had to get rid of a bike.
I don't remember the number or model, the book is in my shop - I'll send it to you after work.
The Guard Dawg works with the factory alarm system - it's sweet.
Jim:
On another note, after putting your tins on my bike I get compliments everywhere I go. I took my bike in for a dyno the other day and the owner of the shop kept going on and on about how different and better my bike looks dressed in black. Thanks for making it possible.

I'm glad they worked out so well for you.
And thanks for getting that part number when you get a chance.
Your bike keeps getting better and better!
The guard dawg model number I used is DGD-KIM.
It's okay with me if you raise the price, as long as my credit is good and you can afford to hold off for a while on the payment.
I had my bike dyno'd the other day and was a little disappointed. I've done the stage 1 and 2 upgrades, a PC 3 and a rhinehart 2-1. Here are the results:
Hp - 78.86
Torque - 90.77
How does this look to you?
