Unless the engine is brand new and never had oil in it before ("dry" engine), the correct fill amount for engine oil is 2.5 quarts.

Yep, checked it on Jiffy stand, got 2.5 empty oil containers, and ran it and checked it. All appears fine, just guess when the new filter was filling it had some air in it as I did get a little "bubbly" oil on the stick after the first check.

I am just **** about these things...I know too little = engine issues, too much = seal blowing problems...

Being over **** I guess.....it's all good, thanks for the replies.

Nope...not a new motor, 1999 88" Twin Cam....knock on wood, she is still going quite strong.

Did notice one thing....The Fram chrome filter I used to buy was part #6065A...new Fram chart said 6065B....compared the two before install, the new one was the same diameter (everything same for mount), but the new filter was...maybe 1/4" or so, maybe shorter, didn't measure it, longer.

Maybe that had something to do with it?

Everything appears to be ok now.
