I bought a 2002 super glide without turn signals on it .The person that owned it before put straight handle bars on it and cut the wires that go to the turn signals. I got the relocating kit for the forks and put them on and hooked up the wires that he cut to the ones that go under the gas tank . Turned the switch on and the lights don't work. I checked it with a test light and there's no power . Where do the wires that go under the tank go to. I took the seat off but I can't see them. Thanks for any help
The wires from the signal lights should run down the hollow center backbone of the frame. There is a small Deutsch connector attached to the main wiring harness bundle that may have been disconnected or pulled apart when the old signals were removed. If you look at the left side of the frame backbone near the steering head, there should be an opening that the wiring harness goes into. You may have to pull it out a little ways to get to the wires and Deutsch connector.
On that frame, you have to pull the wire harness back in to the frame from the rear wheel area....
There is a square rubber plug that you remove, and gently tug the wires back to get them to fit correctly...
When you pulled the wires out the front, you should have had a wire or string already attatched to this part of the harness to assist you in replacing the harness back to it's intended position...
