if my answer wasn't good enough - then you should probably listen to the other advice from someone who clearly knows what he's talking about ...... "I do know there is a difference" ..... "I'm not sure" ....... "I don't think" ........ WOW - I bet that's helping you out quite a bit?
There were 6 "Superglide" models in the 2004 dyna family - FXD,FXDX,FXDC,FXDI,FXDXI,FXDCI .. they all use the same tank. For what it's worth - that same tank is still used in the current model FXD.

there is no difference between the tank of a carb or fi. bike. the tanks have the SAME part #. There is an adapter for the petcock. It comes on any 04-05 carb dyna.
