So I go to see this friend the other nite to show off my new Fatbob. We go on his porch have a couple beers. About an hour later I go out front to leave, start the bike and while I,m putting on my helmet he guns the motor, real hard, 3 times so his wife could hear it. It has 600 miles on it, I put fresh oil in it at 500. Should I be concerned of any engine damage ? It ran fine on the way home. Some people just p@#$ me off.
I think you should be OK. I have buddies that act like 5 yr olds with their own bikes revving them real high just after starting them and their bikes ride fine.
You should be ok. As long as he didnt "no load" free wheel the motor past the rev limiter. If there was any damage done, you'd know it right away when it sucked a valve.
1st off i would smack my buddy as well... no your motor will be 100% fine! just word of warning though... my friends girl did this to my buddies bike as he was putting on his helmet, he jumped and kickd the bike in gear at about 5000 RPMS, came right out from under him and smashed into the car across the street... he owned it for about 25 hrs total... was a mess.
Thanks guys, I can stop thinking about it now. I would liked to have slapped him but he,s a former pro football player, C.F.L.300lbs. I,m 160. All I could do was cringe. When he get,s his I,ll do the same to it, hope he don,t slap me though.

I did this to my own bike once, I was riding downtown and a kid gave me the rev the engine hand sign. I let her have it and not even a second later thought oooooopppss...Didn't sound very good, but now that I'm thinking about it there was several bikes revving all weekend.
