Well, my new tank was ordered today. My wife dropped of the $$$ and the shop placed the order. The only problem is that Harley wants the dealership to ship them the old tank. The dealership doesn't want to ship the tank without receiving the new one in case Harley doesn't get the new tank back to them by the time I get home in August. They don't want me to be without my bike.
Hopefully all goes well and my ride will be as good as new by the time I get home.
GOOD to hear your getting it all fixed up! would be cool of them to let you keep the old tank! i dont know why you would have to pay for a new one and they get to keep the old one! that does not make any since to me at ALL! does not sound fair if you ask me... unless you are just payn for the repaint... but i would not buy a new tank and paint then send him the old one! exp when you can sell me your old tank so i can strip it and do tank dents! then toss it on my scoot!

I hear ya Joe. I have no idea why they need the old tank. I was hoping they'd let me keep it so I could hang it in the garage.
dude i am telling you, do not let them take that old tank! if they do they need to replace it! you are buying a new tank you should end up wiht 2, the new one and your original one...
if you are intrested in selling the scuffed up one i would love a project tank to do some tank dents on... or it can hang on your garage wall crying to be put back in use ha ha ha
i agree with joe.
Why are they wanting it back?
Did they tell you when you bought it they still owned it and you only borrowed it till they want it back.
Id say no no chance if it was me.
