Jake have the tank cut in 1/2 and you keep the undamaged side and send H-D the damaged side. At least both parties get what they want. Just my opinion.

LOL..unfortunately, when my son's bike fell against it, the damn clutch lever hit the left side and decided that wasn't good enough so on the next turn, decided to jump the tank and hit the right. I had the LePera Solo on the bike at the time which allowed more tank to be exposed than my HD Brawler, my stock LR seat, and my HD Sidekick Custom seat...augh, the nightmares have started again....

At the very least they should discount the cost of a tank from the price (like thats going to happen ) or strip the tank and give you the bare metal tank.
I understand the numbering, it's unfair to the customers who bought 1 of 75 tanks and have it suddenly be 1 of 76 tanks. But there has to be a good middle ground.
kinda disappointing that they would treat a customer like that never mind someone who has dropped a good amount of cash there.
Well Jake still cut in 1/2 and keep the left side and send harley the right. Explain to them you did this for sentimental reasons you can't explain. Maybe the will understand. HAHA
Ahh, the plot thickens...I got this email from the dealership tonight:
"I did get all the paperwork ready and your fuel tank will be @ the custom paint facility by mid next wk. The procedure is that they inspect the damage and decide whether it can be repaired or it will have to be replaced. If they repair/re-paint it, you may save some $$. Either way it should look like or be new !!! I will e-mail you as soon as they contact me".
