Route 66 is broken up in places through Missouri. Along I-44, you will see exit signs to get onto the old road. But sometime you have to get back on the interstate for a few miles, as some of the old bridges are no longer there.
It's really hard to tell you exactly what exits there are. In most cases, it's the outer roads either on the north or south side of the Interstate.
I believe there are some web sites that will show more details, if you Google Route 66 they might show something.
Between Rolla and Sulivan (heading back east on your way home), old Route 66 runs along the south side of the Interstate. Pretty well marked with Historic 66 signs.
I'll see if I can't find more information though, as right now I am kind of pressed for time (trying to get work done before my vacation).
I've been on quite a bit of it, and some of it is a little rough riding. They don't keep the maintenance up on it very well in places. It's kind of cool to see some of the old building still standing along the road though.
Ah man, your going to be close but unfortunately I have to work on the weekends. My sister has a cabin on the lake in Arkansas and love riding over there on my bike because of the roads. Let us know how the trip goes when you get back.
I am in St. Robert right up the road from Lebanon off I44 (30mi or so)! Not sure what I have going on this weekend, but I will be riding somewhere sometime. If anything let me know if you need anything I can help out. What time you heading out Sun? Maybe meet up and ride some of the way toward STL. The brewfest is FRI 6-10pm & SAT 12-10pm in STL too so I might be there .
