exhaust heat shield

Say can the brackets for the hose clamps on the heat shields be rewelded or does it ruin the chrome ? Thanks for help .

Its a toss up you may get lucky or you may discolor the chrome on the side. But a good welder may get you enough weld on it to hold and not ruin the pipe. If its broke and unusable its worth a try id soak a shop rag wet and hold the heat shield down on it as i weld the other side and you may just luck out. And when you weld don't get it super hot do it quick with a tack on each end then short and sweet bead between the two.

Are the factory or aftermarket?

+ 1 on OhioSkully, or you could try Silver Sodder, it requires a lot less heat and will provide the strength you need, I would use the same method as mentioned to do the work,
