If the way it's running & fuel mileage changed in a major way, which is what it sounds like, without you having done anything to the carb to cause it I'd have to say something else is going on.

I'm not sure on EVOs what jetting you should have. You might want to post in the EVO section for info so you can get a base line on what you have now compared to what is stock.

I would 1st check for a crack in the elbow fitting where you choke cable attaches to your carb. You'll have to pull your carb to do this. If the elbow is cracked it will suck air & you'll compensate, unknowingly, by always giving it more gas. Check carb to manifold gasket, replace it, Pull the top cover on carb & check the rubber diaphram for any pin holes or tears.

If it was running good before & now it's not something has changed (broke) & you need to find that issue.
