First tire change
Good post, i may try the 407 next as well. I burn thru the k591 like they are nothing but just little side note you guys getting 7000 and 8000 out of a k591 factory tire are doing pretty good. I have put 6 rear tires on my 2007 fxdc and only one of them made it to 8,000 the rest were wasted at about 4 to 6,000 miles.
The one that made it to 8,000 was the last one and i took some advice of a buddy and started running my air psi about 2 to 4lbs over what the manual says.

I run the Metzeler ME880's, have replaced 8 rears and 4 fronts on my '08 Wide Glide.
Get about 6,000 miles out of the rear tire and change the front every two rears.
The Metzelers are very good in all weather conditions and hard cornering, because they are a softer compund which is why they also wear faster.
If you go with Metzeler, keep the air pressure close to the rated side wall maximum to get the best performance and life out of the tire.

.... so you've put 48000 miles on your '08 WG?
Why not? I have 30k on mine, and on my 3rd k591 on the rear. Figure I've got about 5 or 6k before it needs to be replaced.
48,500 so far, coming up on 1-1/2 years old. Changed tires early a couple of times due to long trips.
Just like to ride a lot and it's got a five year unlimited mileage warranty.
Living in Arizona we have year 'round riding weather that a lot of others don't.
