06 dyna turn sig malf
Hey all,
I searched the electrical forums but didn't see anything that exactly pertains to my problem so here goes...
The other day I keyed her up and the left blinker was flashing, I didn't think anything of it, turned it off and went on my way. Then I noticed the left wouldn't turn on when needed. Then without doing anything to fix the issue it seemed to correct itself. For the rest of the ride all was good. Now this morning I hopped on keyed it up and the left was flashing again, only this time I couldn't turn it off using the left turn button. I had to hit the right turn button to cancel out the left. Then after further experimentation I noticed if I hit the right turn button and hold it for about a second or two the emergency flashers would come on. It was acting as though I was holding both buttons. That led me to think maybe I had a left button that was malfunctioning (ie stuck in the on position). But then as I rode along to work the left turn signal kept coming on all by itself, repeatedly I had to continue to hit the right button to cancel it. I felt sorry for the poor guy behind me....
I'm trying to figure out whether its a stuck switch or a turn signal module problem.
Oh yeah the right side works fine, all the bulbs are good, battery connections are tight, ground strap is tight, so I yanked out the vssm from the fuse panel just in case I had a bad or dirty connection there and all looks ok. The security system also works fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
