Dyna switch housing wiring???
hey,
I have an 02 fxd. As we all know the key is located by the battery box on this model. Im trying to wire bike so the the key will start the bike and not the switches on the bars. Does anyone know what color wire I could connect together in order to do this ????

You will have to run the wire from the start button to the key switch since this is what goes to the starter and you will also need to get a different switch for the key that has some sort of spring return for when you go to start it.
Sort of like a car key ignition switch. The existing switch does not have that.
And possibly bypass the kill switch.
It would be worth it for you to get the electrical manual for the bike.

Actually it does not go to the starter, the wires from the hand controls go to a starter relay switch.
(The following is based on 05 FXDWGI Wiring Color Code, but I would imagine the colors are the same)
There is a gray wire that goes to the On/Off switch on the controls, and a Black/Red wire that goes to the Start button, then there is a wire between the two switches.
The new key switch would need to have a momentary contact as mentioned above in order to eliminate both switches on the bars.
