Other than the voltage regulator, are you riding on lots of rough road, then the HID would solve the problem.

Thanks.
Do some research before you jump into the HID.

Do some serious research.

What kinda research are you talking about? I have an HID light in my 04 LR and have not had any issues at all!!! Simple install without any problems, you just have to be sure the ballast will fit into the light bucket!!!

I have the sylvania silverstars and they burn real bright, but have to replace them about once a year. I figure for the brightness I don't mind replacing them. Hell their the easiest thing on the bike to deal with

That sounds pretty ominous. Sounds like you've done some research or had a bad experience. Can you elaborate?

+1, I cant think of any negative issues. If you havent touched the bulb with your bare hands, and even if you didnt when installing a new one, I would wipe it with an alcohol wipe anyway. I would think its due to vibration, check the wire clamp to make sure its holding the base tight and I would go as far as wrapping some electrical tape or something similiar around the headlight housing before you clamp the headlight ring on the bucket.

I have my original stock ones on the 07 with almost 30k on the clock, but someday Il go hid, but I have to buy 2 and a good sets will be expensive.

No, just that there's good ones and really not so good ones out there.

There's also some concern about 'side visibility' on some of them.

And, as a side note -- The add-on types are mostly illegal.

Sort of. Mostly.

edit:

Found it.

Probably just an opinion. But, so is most of what we think in this life.
