Has there been another bike that took the transformation (in 2 yrs) like the WG did and kept the same name? (fender, bars, exhaust, rear lights, chrome/paint, etc...)
Since its birth, ALL of the above except the rear light HAD changed.
Even the rear fender got wider in '02, then ironed out near level a few years later. Guess turning it downwards was inevitable. The chrome accents fluctuated too, admittadly in a radical way (far fewer chromed)for 2010....
Answer; Nope, not many I can recall that changed that much in two years. Bold move on their part. How dare they? Sort of like Susan Boyle..... just when Simon warms up to her, she goes and changes her hair color AND her wardrobe.... but her DNA remains the same wether we recognize the wench or not.
Good thing they kept the 21" ft wheel, wide triple tree spacing, Dyna chasis, laced wheels, correct head-light, under fender brake light, battery cover, and correct rake. Geez with all that still there they should feel safe calling it a Wide Glide? Oh wait they did.

That would be the Softail Custom. The 10' WG no longer has the under fender brake light...
That is actually funny.... all the more reason to call it a WG when you observe what remains as well as what changed. Its called an over-haul/face-lift. Still the same genetics. Hence the name. Late breaking word from the factory.... its the NEW Wide Glide.
