Yeah, but most discussions don't stay simple online... Originally there were a few 2010 line-up threads and a fair amount of chatter was over the WG. There were a lot of different names thrown out there of what the new WG could/should have been called. I WAS going to make the poll with choices of what the WG could/should have been called, but decided to keep it simple with basically a yes/no/don't care choice. But, I personally liked the Wide Bob nominee...

If HD wanted to call it a FXDPOS or FXDWTF, that's what it is and my opinion doesn't really mean ****. I like the new WG - but won't purchase one. So with that, HD got it wrong with this customer.

I'll admit, I haven't been around the HD block all that long. But I have a question for anyone to answer.

Has there been another bike that took the transformation (in 2 yrs) like the WG did and kept the same name? (fender, bars, exhaust, rear lights, chrome/paint, etc...)

Hey Terry, would this help explain why the poll has gained 30+ votes for the same answer in the past few hours when it's been lucky to get 3 votes in 24 hours for the past 2 weeks?

That's funny. I see where you are coming from.
For what it's worth, the only reason I even responded to this thread was an attempt to introduce my friend (gungal) to the forum since she is the proud new owner of a WG she inherited. She finally posted (from this computer) a few hours ago, and I tried to caution her when I got back on and noticed her first post was met with name slinging... "TROLL" ... a form of humor you and I relate to, that baffled her. Once bitten.... She's determined to immerse herself in the HD culture, but as she just found out, new-comers beware right? Anyhow she WANTS to aspire to her "given" steed, and the ruckas about the lineage is rattling her a bit. Wide Glides will be her babtism to the breed, so here we are.

I think I can explain it here... all but the "arguing part", since she (gungal) is my friend, and we frequent the same PC, since it is in the same shop-office. See post #173 which I wrote before I noticed this query. You'll notice we were not arguing... I was warning her it could get tuff for her as a newcomer to the forum. Her boys seemed to be in on her fight, which I find thoroughly envigorating, but she seems miffed. As for baseman's latest pondering regarding the poll #'s.... PM me FOR SURE if you suspect foul play. Boys will be boys but I'm all for nipping THAT in the bud. I have no way of detecting it on my end, and they have left the premises for the night so you know where to find me if there's a problem.
P.S. She DOES have nice pics... I was trying to tempt her discretely... her call, since they are buried in her personal folder.

Where did puddle go???

I agree, it does look good. Doesn't look like the WG of yester-year, but still looks good.

I too, had the chance to ride one(Rapid City). After getting back and talking to the Dyna rep, I told him the front pegs feel different. He was a little surprised, but did say they moved them down and back 1" for 2010. Not that it felt bad, but it felt different and I noticed right away.

Pipes and seat? Uh, why do they even come with one...
