The original:
Wide set forks (thus the name)
Additional rake
Orange flame paint job on black
21" spoked front wheel
Stepped saddle
Forward controls
"Bobbed" rear fender
Mini-apes
Staggered shorties
The new one:
Wide set forks (thus the name)
Additional rake
Orange flame paint job on black
21" spoked front wheel
Stepped saddle (kind of)
Forward controls
Very "Bobbed" rear fender
Drag-style bars
Over-under exhaust
I don't care if it's deserving of the name or not....I don't think changing a model that has stagnated for 30 years is a bad thing at all.....
No offence, but I always just walked right past the WG's before. I personally have just never been a fan of Apes (mini or not) and that bob-tail fender...
When the new one came out, I knew I had to have it. There is very little on this bike I want to make drastic changes to. ...the new rear fender and drag bars are what did it for me! Not to mention that 180 rear!
I have to admit though, that "Shotgun" exhaust setup is awful! I refused to even take mine home with it on there......didn't like the stock airbox this year, either!
How can you not look at this and just call it badass:
proud owner of a 2010 i just got a few weeks back. Sold my 2001 fxdwg after 9 plus awesome years, and i'm ready to start a new chapter with this one. Already put on v and h straight shots and a stage one kit....16 inch apes going on this week....here's my questions: 1. i had a mustang fastback seat on my 01, and not only was it great for my back, it put my frame (6'3") further back in the saddle and i loved it. I tried to put on a mustang fastback for my 2010, but instead this seat pushed me forward. Any tall riders out there find any solo or gunfighter style seats that gave them an inch or two more room than the stock seat? 2. Also, love the look of the detachable sissy bar harley makes for this model, but i'd prefer the traditional style as it would be easier to pack my t-bags....anyone have anything they have put on that is detachable, but more the traditional style? Thanks....loving the bike so far....i loved my old one, but i think its crazy how some people are so up in arms about the changes to the model. Love the new fender, love the blacked out look...and if i want a more chrome look, i can replace the outer primary, cam cover and tran cover with chrome with all the money i saved on the price of this model going low
hey pgdredd---great look....are the trim rings on your headlight and rear turn signals harley or aftermarket brand? they look great....another thing to all the people who hate the bars and pipes on the bike......i hate the bars and pipes too.....although the bars and pipes on the 01 were nicer.....i replaced those right away too, just like i'm doin to this one! some of you people who are complainin the most about the look have done some things to your "old" wide glides that i personally think look horrible....its a personal choice....putting drag bars, saddle bags, any kind of fairing, two in one pipes....on a wide glide just doensn't looik right to me...but it doesn't make your bike any less of a wide glide....its just not my style

wow...i never realized that the the wide glide is the the only hd with a wide glide front end.... Does the moco company know that too? How many softails currently and past have the same front end?
It was more than just the front end....
no it wasn't............. The wideglide predates the softail by quite a few years. When it was introduced it was called the wideglide simply because it had a wide glide front end.
I don't give a f%$#k what anyone thinks ,I love my 2010 WIDE GLIDE
You don't like it to bad .
I don't like the look of the older Wide Glides, but I'm not going to put someones bike down just cause I don't like the look of it. They like it and to me that's all that matters. To each there own
