Anybody know of a company that makes a set of forward controls for late model Dyna models for those of us who are under 5'8"? The stock H-D and other controls seem to be a little bit of a stretch for anyone with a shorter inseam.
Any recommendations would be appreciated, aside from another seat, handlebars, etc.
No real dilema Mike, just a question. The stock H-D forward mounts were okay, just wondering if someone made anything else. Would be interested in what you're riding and what setup (stock H-D or otherwise) that you've got installed.
I have a 30inch inseam and Kuyakyn forward controls. No problems reaching the pedals and I have better control than with the center controls. This kinda amazed me.
Sounds like the issue isn't 'height', but 'inseam'. I'm 5'10" but my inseam is only 30", therefore my leg 'reach' is going to be shorter than someone who may be two inches 'shorter' but have a 32" inseam. Sounds like you need to know that measurement to get the best fit. Too bad someone doesn't make a 'fit kit' like the bicycle folks have had for years.
I have not seen any other forward controls but i did read something one time about a seat that helped move you forward some.
TL
Harley makes this seat, called the reach seat ,that moves the rider 1-1.5 " closer to the controls depending on the bike model and costs between $249-$299 in the Harley catalog or on their web site.
I'm 5'4" with a 30" inseam. I have harley forwards with the sundowner 2 up seat and I reach just fine. I do have the heal peg and that makes a world of difference. It's like having floor boards.
The guy I got my WG from was inseam-challenged. He had put a "Reach", from HD, seat on it. I"m 6'6", so I had to put the stock seat back on her just to ride her. He told me he loved it. So, I've got a Reach seat for sale. Came off a '03 Wide Glide.
