I ride to work regularly and see 50-75MPH daily. It seems to smooth out at the higher speeds. The six speed is nice but would be better if it had an overdrive verses the 1:1. The windshield is a definite need at the higher speeds, you will get tired of eating the bugs and the beating you will take over an extended ride.
i got a 06 wide glide and love it. I ride my friends fat-boy on trips and his does vibrate less than my 06 dyna does. The balanced motor just runs smoother. You can feel the difference when you ride one for a hour and than get on the other one. but the wideglide is much more comfortable.
Looking to purchase an '06 Dyna Wide Glide and have questions about long distance travel. Does anyone have problems with heavy vibration over 65-70mph? I don't mind vibration around town but wondered if it'd be bad on say a 12 hr trip? 75% of my riding is going to be short rides...which is why I want a great looking "street bike"...but I want to know if there is annoying vibration over 70mph? You can't beat the look of a WG but comfort on long rides is important to me. Thanks fellas. --Rob
Easy answer?..........Just pick out the color you like, done!
My 05 WG with Corbin Solo Classic is like a Caddy cruising, the faster you go the smoooother it gets. 06 must be a dream compared to my 05.
I have an 05 WG and find that it cruises great at speeds from 60-90mph. Invest in the windshield and you can ride all day. Can't go wrong with a WG. I can't imagine how great the new six speed tranny is.
'06 WG. Best bike I've ever had. I like the seat, forward controls, high bars, instant starting, vibration at idle only, smooth ride at any speed. 90 mi. round trip to work every day fun.
