I found a '09 Street Bob at a local shop. It's got 1500 miles, all stock, vivid black. Called HD w/the VIN, still has the majority of the warranty, no warranty claims in the file.
Dealer is asking $12999 (msrp) w/o any other fees except taxes (in Colorado we pay license fees when we get permanent plates).
HD also told me where this bike originally came from (out of state dealer), not sure if the shop got it at an auction, dealer trade, repo or what. How much wiggle room do you guys think there would be on this machine? I'd be comfortable going to $11k on it, fair or cheap on my part? At what price should I not let it get away?
Going back on Saturday to talk turkey, thanks for any/all advice.
Oh, he has got LOTS of room... I turned down $12,200 OTD at Cool Springs in Franklin, TN on a brand new 2009 black Street Bob, and bought an 08 he had right beside it (with 2400 miles) for much less.
DSnoopy, pm sent. Yup, bone stock, factory warranty in effect until April 2011. What do you guys think I should offer? Any tips greatly appreciated. I realize we all may have different views of what a big difference in price might be. Also seems to be regionally influenced as well.
I wouldn't give over $12,000 OTD. If you do, call David at Cool Springs and pick up the brand new one - if it is still there... You can ship it for $400 - $650.
I paid 11,900 out the door from Greeley HD last year for an 08 SB with 4 miles on it. You should be able to get it lower- they need to get the 09s out and start selling 2010s. please say its not Blunder Mountain in loveland. If so just go somewhere else!!!
Check out Pikes Peak HD in colo spgs--- this weekend they are doing 1% interest (or a discount up front) on 09 and 2010 models, they could prob beat that deal on a newer bike
