My s/o just got her first H-D - 2000 FXDL. PO had made a number of changes including a Corbin seat which appears to be narrower than pics I've seen of stock seats.
After a ride last Sunday, she has a bruise on the inside of her thigh - from hitting against the corner of the battery box. Would replacing the Corbin (which she doesn't like anyway) with a stock seat help? Would the stock seat make it more difficult for her to get flat-footed (she's short but does great as the bike is now).
Thanks, BB. Why other seats? I put tens of 1000s of miles on my stock 04 FLHT and now ride an 09 FLHTC with stock seat. I realize a dyna isn't a tourer but are the stock seats that bad?
I agree on the rounded box, not sure how involved it is doing the swap though..Mine has the square box and it bothered the hell out of me when my fowards were extended. Now that I can reach them properly it doesn't even touch my leg.
Thanks bobber and punk. I've looked at that rounded cover in the catalog and wondered if it would help. Less than $50 (MUST be a misprint ) so she'll probably do that as well.
