Default Floor Boards and Forward Controls?

I've been craving a little more stretch than my Wideglide's forward controls will allow. I was thinking about forward control extensions. Last weekend, I tried a friends Heritage and fell in love with the feel of the boards. I would love to see some pictures of Dynas with forward controls and floor boards. I'm considering these:

Boards 1
Boards 2

I appreciate any help with this. I'm a little confused about male vs. female mounting (for pegs that is). Also, I don't see a big difference between the shaker and the oval. What is the difference?

I can help you with the male and female mount. All Harley pegs on newer bikes are male mount. The peg is the male and it fits in the slot of the mount.

I think floorboards would ruin the look of the wide glide. Check out my profile and look at the heel rests. I've had floor boards and when I bought this bike I knew I would want the comfort of a floorboard without the look. They defiantly fit the bill. I'd prefer these over floorboards any day. I got a floorboard and highway pegs all in one.

Dave

I have heel rests on my 98 WG, and they are nothing like floor boards. Yes, they are more comfortable, but they dont change your riding position like floorboards do, and that's where the comfort from boards comes in. I've thought about adding boards to mine too, but I just can't bring myself to do it to a glide. She'll never see a fairing, a windscreen or boards: not as long as I'm riding her. I'm about 5'11" and the factory forward controls aren't quite forward enough for me, so I'm thinking about kicking them out some. Let us know what you wind up doing!

I have the floorboards you list in the first link, with HD forward controls on an '06 FXDI. They are adjustable about a zillion ways and very comfortable. However, I did have a problem installing them. The cut of the male part of the peg is different from your regular pegs, mine were anyhow. When you look at a male footpeg, it's rounded on one side so it will fold, and cut square on the other side so it will stop at horizontal. The brackets on my boards were a tiny bit shorter on the squared side, so when installed the floorboards "drooped" from horizontal. I had a welder build up the material on the end of the peg about 1/8" and dressed it with a grinder until they were perfectly horizontal. Takes some work and a few bucks, but I love the result. JP sells a droopy-peg-fixer doodad that's integrated into the little washer that keeps your pegs from vibrating, and that probably would have worked too but I didn't know about it then. The brackets are polished metal, not chrome, so a little welding doesn't hurt anything.

I should have added in that last message that there is a HUGE difference between floorboards and stirrups. The stirrups do give your heels a place to rest but do not allow you to adjust peg placement forward or back. The floorboards allow several inches of back/forth travel, so you can put them exactly at the most comfortable spot. I'm 6'0", 32" inseam, and while the mid-pegs that came stock were ridiculously too far back, the forwards were a little too far forward, and of course stirrups didn't help that. The floorboards, adjusted back about 2", were perfect. Don't expect the "shaker" feature to quell much vibration at low revs, though. It still feels, well, like a Harley.

I thought about heel rests but I can't find any to match my pegs. See the picture below.

Not exactly boards but comfy as hell and looks good. This setup is my favorite right now.

I've got a Bob and I plan on keeping my mids, but right now I have highway pegs and my skull highway pegs are not as comfortable as I would like. Do any of you partsearchers know if any floorboards will fit my highway peg mounts? I'll pay a finder's fee if you point me to something I like.
