06 Bob...problems or normal?

4. Front end clunks when hitting bumps or sometimes when applying the front brake.

Here is the outcome.
As far as the clunking goes for anyone who checks back in this thread. I picked it up from the dealer today and its better than new. Here is what it says on my work order.
"Front end was loose. Sanded down chrome from washer and triple tree where nut is torqued. Re-torqued to factory specs. No more clunk"
So what I was told was the front end was loose and the chrome on the washer doesnt grip whatever its torqued down against and causes it to slip a little. I cant say this is the answer for everyone but what they did fixed mine. Its like riding a different bike.
The funny thing is, the dealer told me it wasnt a warranty item but they didnt charge me because it only had 300 miles on it. Thats nice and I appreciate that but.......if you buy anything brand new and it doesnt work as its supposed to I think it should be fixed at no charge without question or even making the point of "oh we could have charged you, but we're nice guys."
Anyway, those of you from Sacramento...The dealer I took it to was Rocklin HD and their service dept. seems to be pretty kick *** from what I have experienced so far.

Now that I've had my 06 Bob for a while, I've compiled a few things that I'm not sure are normal or maybe could be problems....
1. When front brake is applied it sounds like a cricket chirping really fast.
2. When at parking lot speed I can hear a sshhhh noise that sounds like the front brake is dragging.
3. When coming to a stop, the front end shudders/vibrates slightly at certain points of speed and rpm (when the front brake is applied and clutch is in it's most noticeable)
4. Front end clunks when hitting bumps or sometimes when applying the front brake.
5. Tranny clunks loudly when putting into 1st gear after startup.
problems or normal?

I recognize 2, 4 (only when applying front brake) and 5
About 5: mine clunks when shifting up or down to any gear. I tried shifting at different rpm's and speeds but that does not solve the problem.
I read something about a tranny recall. Could that be the problem?
Mine also does #2. I have had it for a year and have noticed no abnormal wear on brake pad or rotor.
#3 If your bike has a spoked front wheel, the spokes may be loose. I had one that shook on deceleration and that is what is turned out to be.

so
Is number 3 :" When coming to a stop, the front end shudders/vibrates slightly at certain points of speed and rpm (when the front brake is applied and clutch is in it's most noticeable) "
is that one a serious problem ? can it be fixed ?
Bring to the dealer ?

That would be the stock dunflop tire. When it wears out, buy a Metzeler and the problem disappears.
